Stefanie Hays
- Stefanie is a speech-language pathologist originally from New Orleans. She obtained her master's degree from Louisiana State University, where she completed a thesis on experiences in vocal handicap among diverse populations. Prior to her work in private practice, she worked as a speech-language pathologist in both public school and hospital settings. Stefanie has a special interest in feeding, swallowing, voice, and motor speech disorders. She is also interested in autism/neurodiversity acceptance and advocacy. Her experience as a selectively mute child allows her to bring a special perspective to treatment, as she can remember what it was like to be unable to communicate effectively. She is trained in PROMPT and LAMP therapy techniques and is currently completing PROMPT certification. She is a member of ASHA and presented on diversity issues at the ASHA national convention in 2014. When she isn't working, Stefanie can be found camping, hiking, and writing. You also might be able to spot her at Dragoncon, which she attends and presents at annually.
